About Moi
My Name is Brittany, and I'm 23yrs old. I was diagnosed with Lupus when I was 15, and then diagnosed with RA, when I was 18. I also got married when I was 18, and I'm enjoying my happily ever after with my hubby! When I got married, I was slim and trim...But not for long. After getting married, I started to gain a LOT of weight! In 1yr, I gained 50lbs! Finally, I went to the Doctor, where I discovered I have low thyroid. After being put on medicine, my weight gain slowed down, although over the next 3yrs, I gained an additional 26lbs. When I was 20yrs old, I got yet another diagnoses of Poly Cystic Ovarian Syndrome. That's 4 diagnoses in a 5yr period, if you lost count. They all effect my weight, in one way or another. Add on top of that, my love affair with food, and every 1 of those 76lbs gained was accounted for. Being 76lbs over weight is unhealthy for anyone, but it was especially unhealthy for me, and my health issues. Since starting this blog, in Jan-2010, I have lost 40lbs! I'm a new, slimmer, and healthier me! Before losing weight, I was told I needed knee replacements. Losing weight was the ONLY tool I had to help me hold off on that life changing surgery. Since losing 40lbs, my knees have never felt better! My husband and I are also trying to start a family, but my PCOS was not going to make it as easy as 1,2,3, as I didn't have periods on my own. My doctor had told me if I wanted a baby, I HAD to lose weight. Since losing 40lbs, I've had regular cycles for the first time in my life! Which is very important when trying to have a baby ;) This journey of mine is more than me simply wanting to wear skinny jeans. It has been a quest to becoming :Deliciously Healthy, so ALL of my dreams can come true! I'm almost half way there! With each new day, I get closer and closer to my goal of 120lbs, and becoming :Deliciously Healthy!

Just Checking In

Hi Everyone!

I was hoping I'd have time to blog yesterday, before things got crazy (busy), but we ended up being at a car dealership until 12:30AM! There's something about the car buying experience that makes you want to dive straight into a chocolate cake!!
Good news: I DIDN'T!!
It's so stressful! Luckily, it's over!!

Today I have to clean my whole house, because my father-in-law is coming TONIGHT! Anyone want to come help me clean? ;D

I'm having slight anxiety about eating healthy, while we have company over. The fact is, is that this is a part of life. I'm going to have visitors, curve balls, and face situations that don't make it easy to live a healthy lifestyle, but I have to learn to adapt and work around them. It's the only way I'm going to be successful. Life can't be put on hold, while I lose weight, and figure this whole healthy lifestyle out. I need to go into this challenge believing that I can do it, and with positive thoughts! So, even though a little voice inside my head is telling me that this is going to be too hard, and even though I'm nervous as to what this week holds, I'm going to press on. I'm going to tell myself that it's going to be an awesome, deliciously healthy week with my father-in-law, and that I can totally do this!!
Wish me luck! ...Although I seriously don't think I need it! ;D

I wanted to acknowledge, and say thank you to the WONDERFUL, and FABULOUS CBG Blog, who awarded me 2 blog awards!!
THANK YOU!!

I'll do a blog post in the next day or two, about it. I'm excited!

I also wanted to say THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart, for all your sweet comments on Fridays post. They gave me renewed strength, helped me believe in myself (a task that is hard sometimes, so I appreciate your help!), and touched my heart! You guys are awesome, and I mean it when I say that I heart my blog readers! (I want a shirt that says that;). Thank you to everyone who stops by my little blog, and for everyone who gives me support! It helps me more than you know!

On Monday I did my weigh in, even though I really didn't want to! It had me at 181. I'm actually happy with this, because when I weighed myself after all my rebellion, I was 182. I managed to lose the extra pound I put on, and got back down to where I was before I decided to be bad! ;D My goal is to be 179 next week!! I'm SO excited to be in the 170's!! It's going to be a good goal to keep my eye on, while my father-in-law is in town!!

Sorry if I've been a bad blog friend! Life has been a little busy these past few days! I've still been reading along, but sometimes it takes me twice as long to leave a comment, than it does to read your posts (because I obsess over what I'm going to say;), so I've been skipping that part lately. I should have time this week, to keep up on my blog, and yours! :D

XOXO

oh I hate car buying!! It's the pits. My sister is coming this weekend and yes...that makes eating difficult.

By the way, my blog is relocating. I'll let you know the new spot.

So, what kind of car did you get?

I hope you have a fun time with your FIL this week.

You can definitely life a healthy life and still enjoy yourself. I am so glad you're feeling so positive.

I totally used my mother-in-law's visit as an excuse to get away from eating healthier. I know she has a simple pallate and introducing her to new foods like couscous and brown rice would have been okay and probably interesting to her, but instead I kept the menu more geared toward her eating habits.

I am proud that you won't let his visit get in your way. :)

Congrats on the weight loss, yet again my dear! You're doing really well. Seriously, breaking the process down into smaller goals is the key and you clearly get that!
DOn't be worried about maintaining your healthy eating while you have guests. You are the only one who would even notice if you didn't partake in several slices of cake or second helpings. As a dieter, I think you tend to think that everyone is watching your food intake more closely than they actually are. Being healthy and focusing on your goals is the best bet. You're doing wonderfully!!

Holy cow, 12:30AM?! I hope you got a nice car after all that! Glad to hear you're doing better. Don't worry so much about the food while your FIL is there - he probably won't even notice it's healthy! You always make such great stuff, it doesn't look like "diet food".

Well...you must know how much I appreciate you and your sweet comments!! Thank you, thank you...from the bottom of my heart! This is my journey...you took the words right out of my mouth. By the way, you can do it. Keep your goal in mind...even when everything else is unpredictable!

I am sure with your positive attitude and determination that you will do just fine with family visiting! :) I'm so excited for you about almost being in a whole new weight bracket...that is so awesome, and you should be incredibly proud of that.

And thanks so much for participating in the Easter Basket blog hop! I thought it was such a cool thing to do!
