This past weekend, Joe and I went on a dinner/movie date, to see Thor. Who knew Thor was such a hunk?
That's some 6' 3" muscly goodness right there.
Any way. back to what I was saying....
First, we went to one of our favorite restaurants, Jim-N-Nicks.
I usually sneak in a Dr. Pepper, and a couple cheesy muffins while we're there. They are free after all... But this time I ordered a water with lemon, and told my husband to slap my hand if it started creeping over to the bread basket. Luckily, he didn't have to. That might have been embarrassing.
After our movie, we took a little stroll around the outdoor mall.
And that meant we had to pass the Cold Stone.
You can smell the sugar coming out of that place... and I love it! But that's bad. Very, very bad. I shouldn't love it. I should stay away from it. Far, far away. And that's exactly what I did. I even passed up this Cold Stone sign, that made me drool. You can probably see me drooling in the reflection.
Just a few steps past the cold stone, we saw Menchie's, a frozen yogurt restaurant.:
We had never been there, so we thought we'd be adventurous and check it out. Best. Decision. Ever.
It's a self serve frozen yogurt joint, where you can choose you're own yogurt, and your own toppings! I took a couple walk throughs to soak in all the flavors and toppings, before I made my decision. Then I tried to make the best decision possible. I wanted to get chocolate frozen yogurt, with brownies, nuts, marshmallow topping with fudge and caramel.
But instead, I resisted the temptation, and got this:
Chocolate and vanilla swirl, mini dark chocolate chips, coconut, strawberries, and low-fat sugar free fudge. Plus, I exercised moderation on everything. It ended up being just the right amount.
Delish!
Way better then Cold Stone, if you ask me. And a lot nicer on your girlish figure ;)
You should check to see if they have one near YOU. And if they do, you should go. Right now.
And if they don't, just be patient. They are coming soon, to 22 new states!
I heart date nights. Especially when they're :Deliciously HealthyWhat's your date night temptation?
What's your idea of a healthy date night?
Have you ever been to Menchie's?

A frozen yogurt place like the one you showed opened next to my apartment. I try to limit myself to 1-2x a month :) but it's always an indulgence! YUM.
I watched Thor last Friday with the BF and I LOVED IT TOO! The guy was SO HOT hahaha
Yummmmmmmmmmmmmmm!! So jealous! I checked to see if they have any in PA, but no luck..not yet anyway!
My date night temptations is probably ice cream (see my most recent post - I'm a sucker for ice cream). We'll stop at the grocery store and get stuff to make our own sundaes.
A healthy date night includes eating something that doesn't feel like lead after 30 minutes! LOL
Never been to a Menchie's, but fro yo places are becoming really popular now. Love it! :-)
Fantastic choices. I bet nothing tastes as good as being in control of your choices does!
That place sounds deliciously amazing.
You wouldn't happen to have noticed if they had vegan soft serve, did you?
P.S. Just found your blog. YOU RULE!!!!!!
What a perfect date !
How was the movie? That guy is hot! We have a place here like that yogurt place, I think it's called FUNYOGURT or something like that.. Kids love it! It's cheap and tastes good and also good on the body too! ;)
Ooh look at you with your awesome self control.
I can't on date nights :o)
Well, maybe I can. Thanks for the challenge!
Our date nights... depends. Most often, I still cook (because I love to cook, and because we're on a budget), but sometimes we go to our favorite doener place (doener = thin slice of bread, lots of veggies, beef or lamb roasted on a spit and spicy sauces). It's fast food, but it's the healthiest fast food we can get around here. After dinner we may go for a walk, to the cinema or watch a movie at home and cuddle. We're really boring. ^^
Hmm, frozen yogurt... don't think we've got that kind of stuff in Germany. I love making my own "ice cream" from strawberry yogurt, though.
I have never seen a frozen yogurt place as we do not have them here. This one looked really neat though and your Menchie looks divine.
xo
No date nights for me anymore, BUT this old woman has been lusting after "Thor" since I saw the trailer.
We love those yogurt places, they are on about every corner here. Of course we have to try out every place we see because they are all so tasty!!
Girl,
It's been way to dang long. I hope that you are doing well. By the way, twin, my hubbie and I also went on a Thor date! It was so stinkin fun. 3D was our added splurge :)Also, we have an ice cream place like that. It's called Yogurt Mountain!
FroYo STILL hasn't caught on in MN, but Marcus and my Maid of Honor can tell you that if I'm in a city that does do FroYo, I'm basically on a jag from the time I land until the time I leave. Like, I can barely help it!
Way to BE!
Our date nights usually take us to our favorite little Italian place or a Japanese restaurant. I really struggle with bread baskets and fried rice!!!
I'm not a big sweet eater, but the yogurt looks so good.
Glad you had fun!

Brittany, you haven't posted for awhile- I hope all is well with you! I have had a baking day today and it was lots of fun even if I heated up the kitchen (it's 90 outside).
