About Moi
My Name is Brittany, and I'm 23yrs old. I was diagnosed with Lupus when I was 15, and then diagnosed with RA, when I was 18. I also got married when I was 18, and I'm enjoying my happily ever after with my hubby! When I got married, I was slim and trim...But not for long. After getting married, I started to gain a LOT of weight! In 1yr, I gained 50lbs! Finally, I went to the Doctor, where I discovered I have low thyroid. After being put on medicine, my weight gain slowed down, although over the next 3yrs, I gained an additional 26lbs. When I was 20yrs old, I got yet another diagnoses of Poly Cystic Ovarian Syndrome. That's 4 diagnoses in a 5yr period, if you lost count. They all effect my weight, in one way or another. Add on top of that, my love affair with food, and every 1 of those 76lbs gained was accounted for. Being 76lbs over weight is unhealthy for anyone, but it was especially unhealthy for me, and my health issues. Since starting this blog, in Jan-2010, I have lost 40lbs! I'm a new, slimmer, and healthier me! Before losing weight, I was told I needed knee replacements. Losing weight was the ONLY tool I had to help me hold off on that life changing surgery. Since losing 40lbs, my knees have never felt better! My husband and I are also trying to start a family, but my PCOS was not going to make it as easy as 1,2,3, as I didn't have periods on my own. My doctor had told me if I wanted a baby, I HAD to lose weight. Since losing 40lbs, I've had regular cycles for the first time in my life! Which is very important when trying to have a baby ;) This journey of mine is more than me simply wanting to wear skinny jeans. It has been a quest to becoming :Deliciously Healthy, so ALL of my dreams can come true! I'm almost half way there! With each new day, I get closer and closer to my goal of 120lbs, and becoming :Deliciously Healthy!

What in this picture, does not belong?

I was doing good, until I got to the checkout line.
But then I added a (king size) Reese's to my healthy odds and ends.

I can usually resist the loads of candy, that are on BOTH SIDES of the checkout lane. But sometimes something just comes over me, and I grab something.

Sometimes Little Debbie gets me too. She's like, "Hey Brittany! Is that you?! Girl, I haven't seen you since that one time you ate a whole box of oatmeal creme pies all by yourself, while watching that one chick flick. What was the name of that movie? UGH, that's gonna bug me. Watch, I'll remember it after you've walked away. Any who, lets hang out! Come on, it'll be fun!"

And I'm like, "What the hey. Get in my cart girl!"

But then other times I'm able to walk on by, and pretend she isn't calling my name. Even though it's slightly awkward.

I guess you win some and lose some.

I did share my Reese's with the hubs. That's gotta count for something.

Are you able to resist the checkout line candy?

I'd say it's a win some-lose some thing for me, too. Although with me it's more cheese/salty snacks rather than the sweet stuff.

Either way, I don't like these "creepers" getting into our carts!! We've got to tell Debbie and her pals to shove off!!

I used to be taken hostage by the snickers bars regularly, but for now I am pretty safe. Or maybe that's what they want me to believe...

Anytime I go shopping with my husband he always ends up putting reeses or almond joy in the cart.... its his reward for being a good boy and shopping....whatever haha

I'm usually ok at the check out line. I have more trouble with the actual candy aisle where the really good stuff is!

I can typically avoid the checkout line stuff, it's the AISLE O CANDY that gets me, I always end up with a bag of sour patch kids, which I'm glad my girls like because they help me get rid of them.

Debbie and I used to be tight too...but I had to move on :) My husband still wants to have her to the house on occasion though :)

If I'm by myself, the candy doesn't tempt me at all. None of the junk in the store does. BUT. When my son or husband tag along, they DO put stuff in the basket, and once it's in the pantry- it gets tough to stay away.

Anywho, progress- not perfection :)
